On 7th February 1732, Robert Nedham jun. (Lord Kilmorey) leased to Arthur Atkinson of Mullartown an estate within the Barony including "all that quarter of Land commonly known by the name of the Fishers' Quarter of Annalong, in the Lordship of Mourne and Greencastle in the County of Down". Arthur lived in what is now known as Mullartown House.

Following the death of Mrs Olive Atkinson Windram, the Mullartown House property was subsequently sold in 1978 to BCM International, and BCM's Camp and Conference ministry was started there by Tom and Joan McKinstry. The McKinstry's had been doing Bible clubs for many years when God began to burden their hearts to broaden the scope of their ministry in this way.

With the prayers and sacrifice of many Mullartown House was born with the purpose of bringing Glory to God and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ through Christian camping.

In September 2000, this ministry took a further step forward when Scott and Joanna Widman and their family were called from Pennsylvania USA as full time mission workers for the camp, with a vision to expand the Christian activities at Mullartown.
