Mullartown Camp Memories
A Ministry of BCM International
A walk down Memory Lane to 1978 ...
Just to whet your appetite for the forthcoming 25th Anniversary celebrations, here are some photographs from way back in 1978 when Mullartown House was first purchased by BCM International (then known as the Bible Club Movement). The picture to the right is the front of the house before the Dining Hall was built on. As you can see from this picture, the alterations which have been carried out over the years since have been kept as symathetic as possible to the original building look.

Opening Event
Original Courtyard You may not recognize the courtyard to the rear of the house as it was way back then. There was an old pump in the centre of it, the Boy's toilet block hadn't been renovated and the new Girl's toilet block was yet to be built as well.
Originally, the pump would have been used to water horses which would have been kept in the surrounding outbuildings. The new family block was also added just to the right of this picture.
The courtyard is now put to good use for playing organised games such as volleyball and holding bar-b-ques amongst other things!
The pictures below were also taken at the opening event. The first show two large Marquees on the lawns which were used to serve tea in and also for shelter from the Mullartown weather! The second shows a group of BCM people on the lawn. You may well recognize some of the faces, which include Tom & Joan McKinstry and their children Ruth and Paul as well as Oscar Hirt (deceased), the then BCM General Director who came over from the US especially for the opening.

Having fun on the lawn!
